Calderdale’s Retrofit Challenge is a research project to explore the non-technical barriers to retrofitting in Calderdale with particular focus on hard to treat stone terraces, the project is a partnership with Calderdale Council and Carbon Co-op.
Calderdale is leading the way in becoming net-zero by 2038. To reach this target at least 69,000 local properties need to be brought up to EPC rating C or above through measures such as installing insulation, heat pumps and solar panels, which is known as ‘Retrofit’. Traditional solid stone terraces, typical in Calderdale, can be particularly challenging to retrofit but the potential benefits are huge: warmer, healthier homes fit for the future with lower bills plus creating thousands of green jobs for local people.
We want to hear from you – your opinion matters!
We are running focus groups, holding interviews and will be running a survey to gather views from lots of different people in Calderdale. So whether you’ve never heard of retrofit before or you know your stuff, or anywhere in between we’d love to hear from you.
We will also be running a Citizen’s Jury in the Autumn – click the link to find out more.
