Reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, repurpose – An exploration of the problem of waste and what we can we do to deal with it

In this session we will explore problem of waste and how it impacts the natural environment, locally and globally. We will explore several types of waste – food, electronic and textile – and their different impacts. We will introduce the 8 ‘R’s and will have an opportunity to discuss of some barriers and possible solutions to implementing these at different levels – from individual behaviour change to systemic change. We will take part in practical repurposing activities, with an introduction to Todmorden Makery @ Tod College.
