SNaB Showcase

As part of the ASBP Natural Fibre Insulation Week, The School of Natural Building is hosting a building showcase and lecture followed by a Q+A. Join us for a showcase of the ongoing retrofit of Tod College, a 1950s vocational training building now under community ownership. Natural fibre insulation will play a fundamental role in the fabric improvements needed to enhance the energy performance and longevity of this sustainable community hub. The School of Natural Building (SNaB) are lead educators for multiple retrofit skills courses and have been advising on the retrofit process. 

Led by Barbara Jones, the country’s leading voice in straw building, natural materials and inclusivity in construction:

Part 1 – Showcase of the retrofit work ongoing at Tod College using Natural Fibre Insulation and EcoCocon straw panels

Part 2 – Presentation and Q+A, in person and online, presenting natural fibre insulation options

We encourage tradespeople, professionals, homeowners and anyone with an interest in natural materials to attend the event. Refreshments provided. Todmorden is easily accessed by train from Manchester and Leeds and Tod College is fully accessible.

All attendees are invited to continue the conversation over lunch locally. This isn’t provided, but we would need to know numbers in order to plan an appropriate venue.
