Todmorden Learning Centre and Community Hub (TLCCH) is a charitable Community Benefit Society created with a specific focus on the urgent need to kick-start new sustainable industries which are essential to combat climate change, transition to a green economy and enable zero carbon culture.

Funded by The National Lottery Climate Action Fund, Climate Challenge College will develop and pilot an introductory training course in practical employment skills for a range of industries where conventional approaches need to change in order to combat climate change: the built environment, land-use (agriculture/ horticulture/forestry), energy issues, and waste management.

Successful candidates will be joining the College at the beginning of our journey as an education provider – a time which is both exciting and challenging. The opportunity exists to try out new approaches, innovative styles of education, and develop a high-quality learning environment.

We are currently recruiting for three posts:

Programme Leader

You will lead a team approach to the development, delivery, and evaluation of the Climate Challenge College’s introductory course. You should have experience of developing practical/vocational training programmes, accreditation, and learner-centred pedagogy. In addition, you should be knowledgeable about the climate crisis, and have a passionate ambition to help build a greener future.

Full time. £35,000 p.a. Temporary contract until 31/08/22.
35 hours per week. Based at Todmorden Learning Centre and Community Hub.

Assistant Programme Leader

You will be part of the team developing, delivering, and evaluating the Climate Challenge College’s introductory course. You may have experience of delivery on vocational training programmes in a relevant industry (construction, energy, agriculture). You will be knowledgeable about the climate crisis and have a passionate ambition to help build a greener future. You will be expected to provide basic skills and pastoral support to learners and a positive attitude towards young people will be essential.

Part time. £25,000 p.a. pro rata Temporary contract until 31/07/22.
28 hours per week. Based at Todmorden Learning Centre and Community Hub.

Outreach Leader

The successful candidate for this post will be a great communicator and will enjoy engaging a range of communities with an important issue. Marketing skills, networking experiences, and/or experience of working with marginalised communities would all benefit this post. You will be engaging local organisations, education providers, employers, and the wider community whilst at the same time leading the recruitment of learners to the programme.

Full time. £25,000 p.a. pro rata Temporary contract until 31/07/22.
21 hours per week. Base at Based at Todmorden Learning Centre and Community Hub.
