The new students of cohort two and the staff are in a study space. There are three white women standing next to a powerpoint slide that reads "Welcome to Green Futures Course - cohort 2". A selection of students sit around a table, smiling, one is showing the other an image on his phone. One student stands as they do their LFT test, and one student, wearing a bobble hat, is enjoying a cup of tea.

New Year, new term, and new students for the Green Futures Course

It’s the first day for our new cohort of students – and everyone is ready for the new term.

Today we welcomed our new cohort of students who will be with us for the next six months. We have 11 students joining us this term who spent today getting to know one another, learning more about the course, and beginning some quite spicy debates. We had Hilary Turley of All One Collective & Lab joining us to facilitate the groups’ hopes, fears, and what they would love to get from the course creating a “Tree of Expectations”, and a group agreement that included: empathy, boundary setting, mutual aid, and effective ways to practice self-care.

So a very Happy New Year from us and hoping that 2022 brings even more learning, skill-sharing, growing, sustainable building, and making with a purpose to challenge the climate crisis.
